Circus and dance artists wanted!

"Stand on your hands with your heels in the ceiling"

Mer Dans åt Folket is looking for 2 to 3 circus and dance artists with training in pole, acrobatics and/or handstand for an upcoming performance about pirates aimed at children (5-9 years) and families.

Regnbågsskatten is a fast-paced dance and circus performance freely interpreted from the book "Piraterna och regnbågsskatten" by Sara Berg and Karin Frimodig. Choreography and direction by Jannine Rivel, dramaturgy by Amanda Billberg and music by Samuel Looptok Andersson. Producer is Mer Dans åt Folket. 

Audition is held on February 3 at Lokomotivet, Verkstadsgatan 8 in Eskilstuna.
Time: 11.00-14.00
Who: we are looking for 2-3 circus/dance/acro artists with practice in pole, or handstand etc.

Qualifications
You are professionally active in dance and/or circus. 
You enjoy working in an exploratory and process-oriented way.
You have experience in performing for children.
Touring experience is a plus.
You should be able to participate during all rehearsal and performance periods. 
It is an advantage if you speak one of the following languages: Finnish, Tigrinya, Russian, Arabic, Ukrainian, Somali, Kurdish or Sami. 
It is an advantage if you have a B driving license.

The show will be created in the spring of 2024 with a premiere at the end of April followed by performances in Sörmland and Västmanland. Rehearsals take place at Scenloket/Lokomotivet in Eskilstuna. In the fall of 2024 there will be an extensive tour in Sörmland with performances for school classes. 

Rehearsal and performance periods
Rehearsal period 1: weeks 9 and 10 
Rehearsal period 2: weeks 14, 15 and 16
Performance period 1: weeks 17 and 18
Rehearsal: week 33
Performance period 2: August 26 - December 10 - tour in schools in Södermanland.

The assignment is invoiced.
